Community Guidelines

Citizenry is built on the belief that civic life should be personal, purposeful, and rooted in respect. To make this a meaningful space for everyone, we ask that all users honor the following guidelines when engaging with our platform, our partners, and one another:

Nonpartisanship & Civics

  • Citizenry is strictly nonpartisan. Our mission is to strengthen communities, not political parties.

  • We welcome civic conversations — about issues, neighborhoods, and solutions — but campaign activity, partisan advocacy, or electioneering is out of our wheelhouse.

  • Political discussions should remain respectful, focused on civic life, and open to diverse perspectives.

Respect & Inclusion

  • Treat others with dignity, kindness, and empathy.

  • Respect different identities, backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.

  • Discrimination, hate speech, or harassment of any kind has no place here.

Constructive Engagement

  • Use Citizenry to connect, learn, and build community — not to tear it down.

  • Debate ideas, not people. Passion is welcome; hostility is not.

Authentic Participation

  • Represent yourself honestly.

  • Share information that’s accurate to the best of your knowledge.

  • Don’t impersonate others or mislead organizations.

Care for the Commons

  • Contribute in ways that uplift shared spaces — whether that’s our platform, a nonprofit partner, or your neighborhood.

  • Remember: small actions add up to meaningful change.
