Dominic Ramos-Ruiz
Founder
Trained as an urban planner, Dominic has spent his career at the intersection of cities and social impact—working across sectors to make urban life more livable.
From start-ups to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the throughline has always been the same: a belief that cities thrive when people feel a sense of connection and ownership.
Through years of involvement with local institutions, Dominic quickly found a deep sense of belonging in his adopted home of New York. But what struck him was how many others still longed for the same connection—while also seeing how overwhelming and misunderstood civic life could be.
Over time, what began as personal grew into something larger—a quiet conviction that these opportunities shouldn’t be reserved for those who have connections or happen to stumble into them. And from that, the idea of Citizenry was born, to help people step up with clarity and confidence.
Dominic splits his time between New York and Spain with his husband, and enjoys long-distance cycling, snowboarding, sailing, and wandering aimlessly around cities.
